Spring is here and with it the "Games Capital Spring Berlin"! The coming week is full of great events – first and foremost the presentation of the German Computer Game Award 2025. Here we give you an overview:

The most important award in the German games industry, the German Computer Game Award (DCP), will be presented in Berlin in 2025. The award ceremony, sponsored by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, will take place on May 14 at the Palais am Funkturm in Berlin.
The DCP is the most important prize for the German games industry and has been awarded since 2009. It is awarded by the German government, represented by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection, together with game – Verband der deutschen Games-Branche e. V. (German Games Industry Association) for the best computer and video games of the year from Germany.
High-ranking specialist and general juries select the best games based on aspects such as quality, innovative content, playability, and cultural and educational appeal. The DCP Awards office is located at the Stiftung Digitale Spielekultur.
With a total of 11 nominations for the capital region of the DCP, #GamesSpringBerlin is picking up speed. The Berlin-based developers of Megagon Industries have not only been nominated for Best German Studio, their MBB-funded game "Lonely Mountains: Downhill" and its expansion "Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders" are now competing in the top category for Best German Game. 3 MBB funded games are nominated: Vampire Therapist, Oddada and Echoes of Mora.

Berlin's spring is all about games: not only will the German Computer Game Award be presented on 14 May, but the 2nd edition of Spotlight Games Berlin, curated by Medienboard, will once again put the spotlight on the most important topics in the games industry. The event for game developers, publishers and politicians offers panels, networking and the best contacts for the entire industry.
Together with the industry, politics and the press, we will discuss current developments in the games industry in Berlin, Brandenburg and beyond in talks, panels and direct dialogue!

A MAZE. / Berlin is an international festival, a platform for independent and arthouse games and explores the world and culture of playful media.
A MAZE. / Berlin is back in 2025 for the 14th time, bringing together the worldwide community of arthouse game developers, artistic world builders, digital artists and playful media creators. From May 14–17th 2025 the international Games and Playful Media Festival will take place in Silent Green and Panke Club (Berlin Wedding), and includes hybride components that connects the physical festival programme with the virtual world.

Movies, series, games, XR – everything on one screen
On May 27, the most important players from the media industry in the Capital Region will gather at ON SCREEN during re:publica: Funded events from the games, XR, series, and tech sectors will curate high-level sessions with leading industry experts, workshops, and an
interactive exhibition area showcasing the media hub of the future. In the evening, MBB invites attendees to the Sundowner – a networking event for policymakers and industry professionals.
At the intersection of different industries, technologies, and disciplines, ON SCREEN is purposefully focused on fostering new collaborations and fresh impulses. For the first time this year, the program special at re:publica 25 is being developed in close cooperation with Seriesly Berlin, MediaTech Hub Conference, Games Ground, A MAZE. / Berlin and dokumentale.
